Beechcraft T-34A
N273CB
This T-34 was built in 1953 and was the 72nd T-34 to roll off the assembly line in Wichita Kansas. This is an A model which was used exclusively by the USAF as its primary pilot trainer. The B model was used by the USN and with a few exceptions is identical to the AF version. These aircraft were used by both branches of the US Military from the early 1950’s to the mid to late 50’s. The USAF transitioned to the all jet Cessna T-37 starting in June of 1956. The Navy continued to fly the T-34 but upgraded the aircraft by purchasing the newly designed T-34C model which saw the installation of a Pratt & Whitney PT-6A-25 which greatly increased its performance and range. The Navy retired the C model starting in 2002. Currently, both the USAF and the USN are using the Beechcraft T-6A Texan II.
